CJ Brubacher History
Clare Brubacher was determined to realize his dream of owning a business. So, after completing a stint in the plumbing and heating division of M. Weichel and Son in Waterloo during WW1, he purchased the company along with fellow coworker Charles Hemmerly in 1921. Clare became the sole owner two years later, showing his true ambition and entrepreneurship. With his determination and help from many hardworking employees, CJ Brubacher grew into the successful business it is today.
Ralph Brubacher
Clare’s son, Ralph Brubacher, began working for his father’s company in 1947 and ended up taking over the reins in 1965. Clare, a master plumber and pipefitter, taught Ralph everything he knew about business, emphasizing the importance of community involvement for long-term success.
Ralph took these lessons to heart and continued to make CJ Brubacher a prominent fixture in their local community. While hard work and innovative business practices were key factors in the company’s growth, their commitment to community service truly sets them apart from the competition.
CJ Brubacher continued to grow throughout the decades, and in 1994, about 20 years after starting an apprenticeship at CJ Brubacher, Ralph’s two sons, James and Peter, acquired the company.
Today, CJ Brubacher is still family owned and operated. It is run by Kyle Brubacher, Clare’s great-grandson, and it remains a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
