A plumbing repair often requires replacing one or more components. There is more to a repair than just picking up plumbing replacement parts and attempting to install them yourself. The plumbing system in your home is complex and delicate; you could cause more damage when attempting to repair a problem.
CJ Brubacher Ltd has served the communities of Cambridge, Elmira, Guelph, Kitchener, and Waterloo for nearly 100 years. Our staff consists of fully licensed plumbers and their apprentices are qualified to perform plumbing replacement of various fixtures in your home. Part of the value we provide is performing the job right the first time.
Here are examples of some of the plumbing services we offer.
Plumbing Pipe Replacement
Pipe replacement is one of the most fundamental plumbing jobs. Pipes run all through your house but are hidden so you usually do not see them. Pipes carry water to the various fixtures and appliances that need it, and different lines carry wastewater away. We have seen problems arise with either type of pipe.
Interior pipes can corrode, especially when made from inferior materials. They can also get clogged with food or waste. Leaking can occur due to a broken seal at the joints. Repairs or replacements to interior pipes often require holes to be cut in your walls. When you trust us with your plumbing repairs, we know exactly where to cut, we do not take any more than necessary, and we repair the hole we leave behind.
Problems that can affect outdoor pipes include:
- Freezing and bursting
- Breaking or cracking from shifting soil
- Bellying from soil or conditions
As with indoor pipes, we accurately pinpoint the type and source of the problem, perform the repair, and fill the hole back in.
Bathroom Plumbing Replacement
We have seen toilets clog regularly due to interior components that are worn out and no longer able to move water and waste efficiently. We can diagnose the problem and either repair the malfunctioning parts or replace the entire toilet. Other problems with the toilet include constantly running or leaking. Depending on what is causing the problem, these could warrant either repairs or full replacement.
We have also seen the sink and shower or tub cause problems by leaking, having low water pressure, or lacking hot water. In the latter case, we can install a new hot water heater for you as a replacement if we determine that to be the cause of the problem.
We have witnessed tragic and costly basement flooding due to sump pump failures. The sump pump’s purpose is to route water away from the lowest point of your home’s foundation, but it is common for it to experience problems including the following:
- Improper installation
- Stuck switch
- Continuous running
Most sump pumps plug into a wall outlet or are hardwired into your electrical system. This runs a risk of failure if your electricity goes out during a heavy rainstorm, which could lead to potentially disastrous flooding. Let us install battery backup to keep your sump pump running in all types of weather. If you are not sure whether your sump pump has a battery backup, we can let you know and install one for you if you do not already have it.
If your sump pump is not working, we can repair and replace it for you. We can also perform annual inspections of your sump pump to make sure it is still in working order.
